I don't know anyone who doesn't love mac and cheese. It is so delicious and comforting to eat. This recipe takes your average mac and cheese to the next level! You do not need actual truffles to make it. If you can get your hands on some truffle oil, it will definitely amp up the flavor! But if not, just leave it out and it will still taste amazing!
This mac and cheese is so creamy and cheesy! I personally love when my mac and cheese is super saucy. It is exactly the recipe you need to make on a cold day or a hot day! Any day would be made so much better with this mac and cheese! No substitutions for this one. If you need to make it vegan, use vegan milk alternatives and vegan cheese. If you need to make it gluten-free, use gluten-free noodles and cornstarch instead of flour.
Truffle and Parm Mac and Cheese
Servings: 4-6| Prep time: 10 minutes| Total time: 25-30 minutes
Ingredients
3-4 servings noodles (cook according to package)
1 tbsp flour
1 tbsp butter
3 cups milk
10-16 oz low moisture mozzarella shredded
1 ½ cup shredded parmesan
Salt to taste
½ -1 tsp Ground black pepper
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
Drizzle truffle oil or water and truffle shavings
Directions
1. Boil water and cook noodles according to package (I like using spiral noodles).
2. Preheat oven to 450F.
3. Heat butter in an oven-safe pot on medium heat. Once melted add flour and whisk until tanned slightly.
4. Slowly whisk in milk (start with just 1/4th cup at a time so it combines smoothly).
5. Add in mozzarella cheese, 1 cup parmesan, pepper, and salt to taste, along with truffle oil.
6. Fold in noodles, top with panko breadcrumbs and ½ cup parmesan.
7. Bake for 5 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
8. Top with truffle shavings and ENJOY!
