When I was younger my family was obsessed with this one Chinese Restaurant on Buford Highway. We would go so often the owner would give us stir fry green beans on the house each time. The beans were one of my favorite things to eat there. They were garlicky, a little sweet, delicious, and tasted so good with chili oil! This recipe is inspired by those green beans and you need to try them! This recipe is a great way to increase your veggie intake in a delicious way and is filling but healthy.
This dish is super easy to make. It does not take long and a lot of the time is just the beans softening up, not active cooking. Make sure the beans become limp and the sauce thickens enough so it coats the beans well and each bite is full of flavor!
These beans are great for meal prepping. They store easily and reheat easily. You can add some ground meat if you want to make this more filling and protein filled. I like adding ground pork, but if you want something healthier, ground turkey works as well.
If you are vegan you can use canola oil instead of butter and agave, brown sugar or maple syrup instead of honey.
