Tequila is a type of hard liquor that is a bit controversial. A lot of the tequila used in restaurants and bars is kind of crude in taste. The crude taste, however, is easily masked by adding different flavors, such as acidity, sweetness and saltiness. This masks the flavor of the bitterness from the tequila because the brain can only perceive so much information at once.There are more taste buds that respond to sweet and salty flavors than to bitter, so the brain is strongly responds to those flavors, losing focus of the bitter flavor. The acidic flavor acts in the same way, but also mellows out the crudeness of the tequila. All together, this margarita provides a complex taste stimulation that is delicious and easy to drink! You can make this drink on the rocks, but I made mine as a slushy because it was a warm, nice day and my family likes it better this way!
Ingredients:
Tequila
Lemon Juice
Mango Juice
Salt
Chili Powder or Tajin Seasoning if you have
Sugar or simple syrup (optional)
Ice
Directions:
Mix 2 parts tequila, 1 part lemon juice and 1 part mango juice in blender. Add in 1/8-1/4 part sugar/sweetener. Add in enough ice to get the consistency desired (or similar to picture above). Wet rims of glasses with lemon or mango juice or water and coat with Tajin seasoning or salt and chili powder mixture. Serve and enjoy!!
