Rosemary Lemon Rolls with Honey Cream Cheese Glaze

Everyone makes cinnamon rolls. You can literally buy them premade, all you have to do is bake them. You know what no one makes and you can't get at a grocery store? These rolls! Made with rosemary and lemon, they are very light and refreshing to taste, and extremely fluffy in texture! Perfect if you don't have a huge sweet tooth...but have a craving for sweets!

This dough is great because it is difficult to over-knead. Over kneading can make doughs excessively stiff due to the increased amount of gluten development. The cornstarch used in the dough prevents gluten formation by creating "interruptions" in the development process. This also helps make the dough super fluffy and stay that way for longer!

This recipe is super versatile because you can use the dough recipe for so many things. Leave out the rosemary and then use it with whatever you like! You can add Nutella or any jams. You could even use this dough for dinner rolls.

Substitutions:

There aren't many substitutions but here are some options

Vegan: use coconut oil instead of butter, flaxseeds, or a banana instead of egg, vegan cream cheese, any milk, and then agave or powdered sugar instead of honey.

Have fun with it! Use whatever filling you'd like, you can even use cinnamon, sugar, and butter if you want to keep it basic 😉

This recipe is so fun to make and so delicious! It does take a little bit of time because the yeast has to rise, but it is worth it! You can also make the dough the night before you want to make it, or the morning that you want to make it, and leave it for around 8 hours! It won't go bad. ENJOY!
