Italian Fusion Aloo Tikki with Basil Chutney

This dish is a lovely Italian and Indian fusion and makes the perfect appetizer for any dinner party or wine and cheese night. It is definitely a crowd-pleaser and will impress just about anyone. Try it out and let me know how it goes! It is simple and combines soft and crunchy potatoes and creamy fresh mozzarella with fresh herbs.



This recipe takes a traditional Indian street food to the next level. Aloo Tikki tastes best when it is super crunchy. Using rice flour mixed with the potatoes is the best way to get it crunchy. Rice flour is full of starch and is gluten-free. This prevents it from becoming chewy in texture, allowing for the perfect crunch to develop. If you do not have rice flour, I would use cornstarch. This is another great way to develop a nice crunch.



Indian and Italian food fuse beautifully together. This is my second time creating a recipe that combines the two flavors and I love it! The cheese in the aloo tikki with the tomatoes combined with the fresh basil chutney will make your taste buds sing 🎶.
